A lively village with hospitable inhabitants, just eleven kilometers from the city of Drama, towards Xanthi, we meet the historic village of Adriani. It is said that its name comes from the Roman Emperor Adrian when during his reign (117-138 AD) he passed from the region.

Close to the settlement, human presence has been testified since ancient times in the ruins of the first castle of the area, at the site of the hill Ai - Giannis.

Adriani has a suitable ground for grape growing, and this is obvious due to the activity of three wineries that have made the small village known throughout Greece.

The wineries of the region are the Domaine Costa Lazaridi, the Estate Manolesaki and the Estate Oenogenesis! Wineries are located, surrounded by organized vineyards and you can go to the production areas, wine cellars, attentive wine tasting rooms to taste the world-renowned wines.

The wider region gathers other smaller production units, with excellent wines, which make it an important economic center of Drama.

The area is also active in dry fruit processing where it has one of the most modern laboratory equipment, expanding its activities abroad.

Adjacent to the southeast of Adriani, there is an alley of 50 acres of plane trees that create shade and help to relax and sport the residents of the village and visitors to the area.

Also, a good visit to the area is on the 6th of August at the Feast of Metamorphosis of the Savior.

To the south of the village is preserved the wooden-robed three-aisled basilica of Agios Nikolaos which dates back to 1884 and was built by the local Greeks during the development of the tobacco trade. However, festive - religious events for the celebration of St. Nicholas take place every year on 5 and 6 December. On the eve of the feast, the Great Vesperah is chanted, with bayonets. Then the portrayal of the Holy Picture of the Saint is carried out with the accompaniment of the Philharmonic, which is young and new to the village. On the 6th of December in the morning, there is a Feast of Divine Liturgy, where after its expiration, in the beautiful courtyard of the church, traditional bean soup, dishes and local abundant wine or tsipouro are offered.
